Your Sales Kickoff Covers What to Sell. Who Teaches Reps How to Sell?

Ninety days after most kickoffs, teams have forgotten 90% of what they learned. Yours can be the exception, the one that changes how the team sells. An SKO designed around the ValueSelling Framework® turns kickoff excitement into value-based selling skills that managers and sellers can immediately apply in the field to realize lasting results.

Why Most Sales Kickoffs Don't Stick

Sales leaders always have big dreams for their annual sales kickoff event, with the goal of aligning people around strategy, goals and the behaviors the year will demand. Yet, too many of them fail because they do not instill lasting skills and they make these mistakes:

The agenda does too much.
Product updates, tool demos and strategy decks fill two or three days. You ask reps, who learn by doing, to sit through presentations, and they begin to forget what they “learned” within days.
Nothing translates information into behavior.
The agenda tells reps what your company will sell, but it does not address how sellers translate that into buyer conversations that actually win deals.
There's no plan for what happens after.
The event ends, the enthusiasm fades and the kickoff becomes a memory. Without manager routines and reinforcement built in from the start, your win rates look the same as they did before everyone got on a plane.
The content isn't built around sales goals.
Most SKOs have an agenda but no clear goal. The key is determining what managers and sellers must do differently and build the kickoff around exactly that.

Gamify Your Sales Kickoff With Dynamo

One deal. Five rounds. Can your reps make it to the proposal phase?

In Dynamo, your sellers work a deal—from first meeting through proposal—against an AI buyer with ValueCoach AI™'s Val as their coach.
Realistic Pressure
Reps work five sales scenarios against the AI buyer, Alex, navigating real-world deal pressure against a prospect who stops listening the minute they hear anything resembling a pitch.
AI-Driven & Evaluated
Val scores each interaction against ValueSelling criteria. Feedback centers on earning the meeting, uncovering problems worth solving and confirming the issue and the value of solving it.
Gamified Team Play
Teams assign distinct table roles to solve deal challenges together: Driver, Voice, Tracker and Disruptor. They're scored against each other in real time to bring out that competitive edge.
Measurable Change
Session One sets a skill baseline before or during your event, while Session Two proves skill application post-kickoff. Compare scores to get quantifiable proof of behavior change.

The ValueSelling Difference: An SKO Built on a Framework

Most SKO partners bring excitement and an agenda. ValueSelling Associates brings a proven methodology your team keeps using long after the general session ends.
A common language across the revenue cycle
The ValueSelling Framework® gives every customer-facing role a shared vocabulary for qualifying opportunities, selling on value and securing renewals.
Application in real time, no hypotheticals
Our training is built around your pipeline. Reps practice on their own accounts and opportunities, so the workshop and the workday are aligned.
Coaching that survives the event
Sellers, managers and leaders use the same Framework, so what's practiced at SKO is applied throughout the rest of the year.
A game that makes the learning stick
Dynamo, our newest AI-powered game for sales kickoffs, puts reps in realistic customer conversations where they must deliver value under pressure. Turn SKO training into something teams actively experience instead of passively watch.

Reinforcement and Measurement

An SKO should be the launchpad for a year of behavior change, not a line item in the budget. Here's how we approach the before-and-after of your event.

  1. BLOCK 1 · BEFORE

    Structured Reinforcement (The 90-Day Plan)

Establish a strategy with executive alignment 90 days before the SKO. Get clear on what behaviors must change, how you'll do it and how you'll measure success.

  2. BLOCK 2 · AFTER

    Manager-Led Routines (1:1s & Deal Reviews)

Equip sales managers to drive day-to-day adoption by embedding the ValueSelling Framework® directly into manager 1:1 cadences, reviews, and forecast calls. Managers also get a 90-day implementation plan to lead adoption after the kickoff.

  3. BLOCK 3 · AFTER

    30-, 60- and 90-Day Check-Ins

Targeted deal reviews and check-ins with your ValueSelling expert at 30, 60 and 90 days after the SKO give you a closer look into coaching efficacy and skill adoption. This proactive approach equips leaders and frontline managers with the data and strategy to course correct.

  4. BLOCK 4 · AFTER

    Adoption Metrics & Performance Tracking

Measure behavior change to gain an early view into ROI by tracking leading indicators (qualification depth, questioning techniques, multi-threading to power, ValuePrompter® usage) alongside trailing metrics (close rates, deal size, sales velocity).

  5. BLOCK 5 · ALL YEAR

    Ongoing AI Support (ValueCoach AI™)

Integrate on-demand coaching directly into daily CRM workflows to provide personalized deal coaching, call strategy feedback, and skill reinforcement.
Our research with Aberdeen proved that when teams combine human and AI coaching, quota attainment improves 3x YoY.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you support virtual and hybrid kickoffs?

Yes. The same design principles, training and manager enablement services work for virtual, in-person and hybrid events, in a number of languages.

How far in advance should we start planning?

For a full multi-day program, 3 to 6 months of planning gives us time for discovery, agenda design, and manager enablement. Tighter timelines are common, and we can move fast when the date is set.

Do you handle logistics, content, or both?

Our strength is the content and learning design: the sessions, the framework application and the reinforcement plan. We work alongside your event team on logistics so the experience and the substance land together.

Do you replace our internal speakers?

No. Your executives own the vision. We build the skill and behavior layer around it, and we can coach your presenters on connecting their content to what sellers will actually do with it.
