ValueSelling, President & CEO teaches Ohio University Sales Symposium how to compete on value not price

Julie Thomas will share expert advice about the sales process during difficult times

Rancho Santa Fe, Calif., March 10, 2009 - Julie Thomas, president and chief executive officer of ValueSelling Associates, the creator of the ValueSelling Framework®, will be presenting at the 12th annual Sales Symposium in Athens, Ohio on April 2. Hosted by the Ralph and Luci Schey Sales Centre at Ohio University, the symposium will focus on "Sales Success and Productivity in a Tough Market."

"I'm honored to have been asked to share my experiences with the Symposium attendees," said Thomas. "There is no reason why sales people shouldn't be successful right now. It's just about finding the right focus. By concentrating on value and not price, we can gain sales and build relationships even during a down economy. That's the competitive edge."

Today's struggling economy has brought significant challenges to the process of building and sustaining sales. Through this one-day symposium, attendees will learn efficient and productive methods to gain sales despite difficult times. Participants will also have an opportunity to share helpful views and experiences with like-minded world class sales and management practitioners.

Thomas, an expert in business to business sales, will present, "It Can Be Done in Turbulent Times: How to Compete on Value Not Price." She will share tips and techniques gained through more than 10 years of sales experience. Thomas began her career as a sales professional quickly rising through the ranks and achieving the position of vice president of sales training at Gartner Group. There, she managed and trained new hires in the ValueSelling process. In 2003, she acquired ValueSelling Associates and has propelled the company to the forefront of competency and process-based training for escalating sales performance.

"The Ralph and Luci Schey Sales Centre at Ohio University is delighted to have Julie present at this special event," says Kenneth L. Hartung, executive director, The Ralph and Luci Schey Sales Centre at Ohio University. "As an organization committed to differentiating our members and attendees, she brings the knowledge and skills to help our participants excel in this challenging market."

In addition, award-winning author and speaker, Jeffrey Gitomer, will be speaking at the event. For more information about the event, visit http://www.cob.ohio.edu/cms.aspx?cid=3587.
